LC 45. The Right to Due Process and Justice

  • All alleged violations must be made in good faith. Those who falsely accuse or bear false witness may be held liable for slander.
  • All matters of justice must be adjudicated by at least 3 jurors
  • Serious charges must be initiated by a Grand Jury
  • A person cannot be deprived of property without just compensation
  • A person cannot be disciplined without Due Process (fair procedures)
  • All discipline must be fitting and proportional to the crime. No cruel or unusual punishment. No excessive or disproportionate punishment.
